For vegetable cultivation and horticulture, the products are the general, checkered and heavy-duty 2-layer shade nets at 35% to 95%. The heavy-duty 4-layer nets at 95% and above are used where light must be almost fully blocked, such as tents, warehouses, aquaculture and weed control.
What differs between nets with the same shade rate?
At 95% alone there are three products: the general shade net, heavy-duty 2-layer No. 2095 and heavy-duty 4-layer No. 4095. The heavy-duty nets are knitted from PE tape yarn and monofilament with UV stabilizer. The general shade net is made of PE.
Widths differ as well. The general shade net goes up to 14 m, heavy-duty 2-layer Nos. 2055 to 2085 are 1~18 m, and No. 2095 and the 4-layer nets are 0.6~18 m. If you want to cover a greenhouse with a single sheet, check the width first.
Blocking light while reducing heat
LUMI-NET® is a white heat-reducing net knitted with a ceramic functional pigment. It is custom-made at 75~95% shade and 1~16 m width. Light and thermal-camera records are on the LUMI-NET® page.
Frequently asked questions
Which shade rate should I choose?
The light a crop needs depends on the crop, the region and the season, so a shade rate alone is hard to decide. Tell us the facility, the crop, and the width and length you need, and we will suggest a product.
Why is 99.4% written with a decimal?
99.4% is the actual shade rate in our catalog. The last two digits of the model number, 99, mark the shade series. Nos. 4099, 4199 and 4299 all have a 99.4% shade rate.
Do models in the same series have the same shade rate?
Yes. Heavy-duty 4-layer Nos. 4097, 4197 and 4297 are all 98%; only the colors differ. A second digit of 0 means all black, 1 means black on one side and green (watermelon) on the other, and 2 means black on one side and green or blue on the other.
